Objective To evaluate the in vitro biological effect of oseltamivir carboxylate against varied subtype influenza viruses isolated from east china during 2004-2006 influenza season, and then found out the sensitivity and drug-resistant variant. Methods Influenza viruses were isolated from flu-like cases during influenza season in Shanghai, Wuxi and Deqing.50 isolations including 3 subtypes were randomly selected in this study. The anti-viral activity of oseltamivir carboxylate was detected by employing neutral-red uptake assay. The 50% inhibition concentration (IC50) served as the index of anti-viral effect.
