Angiotensin-(1-7)[Ang-(1-7)]is an endogenous,heptapeptide hormone with anti-proliferative and anti-angiogenic properties.Previous studies had shown that Ang-(1-7) can inhibit lung cancer cell growth both in vitro and in vivo using a xenograft tumor model.But the peptide exerts its efficacy in vivo is severely hampered owing to its rapid degradation.We first studied the effect of viral vector-mediated overexpression of Ang-(1-7) on lung tumor growth in a xenograft tumor model.BALB/c nude mice with tumors resulting from injection of human adenocarcinoma Spc-A1 cells were treated with AAV8(Y733F)-CBA-Ang-(1-7).
