Curcumin is derived from turmeric, the powdered rhizome of the medicinal plant Curcuma Ionga Linn.NF-KB regulates the transcription of many inflammatory mediators, and spinal cord NF-KB activation is involved in exaggerated pain states.1 CX3CR1, a chemokine reporter which is expressed by microglia, supports a potential role in the mechanisms that contribute to the exaggerated pain state.
