In this paper,an advanced electro-active dry adhesive,constructed of mushroom-shaped fibrillar dry adhesive array actuated by the carbon nanocages(CNCs)reinforced ionic polymer metal composite(IPMC)artificial muscle,was developed,in order to imitate the actuation style of the geckos toe,and the electro-mechanical properties of CNCs reinforced IPMC and electro-active adhesion performance were investigated on the homebuilt test apparatus.The surface morphology of the CNCs,CNC/Nafion membrane,IPMC and electro-active adhesive were observed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).
