To visualize the geometric structure of molecules during photochemical reactions,Laser Induced Electron Diffraction(LIED)is developed together with a few other methods.Among them,LIED can provide both sub-femtosecond and sub-Angstrom resolution.However,up to now,the energetic electrons produced in LIED processes are only measured only by the field-free electron time-of-flight(TOF)spectrometer with collection efficiency about 0.02~0.04%.Here,we designed a Velocity Map Imaging(VMI)spectrometer that can collect these energetic electrons.With it,we will be able to increase the detection efficiency by 3 ordersin LIED measurement.
