Reverse Osmosis (RO) has been successfully used to economically treat and reclaim a variety of wastewaters. The reclaimed water can be used for indirect potable reuse in some cases or for high quality industrial waters, depending on the local needs and opportunities. For industrial wastewaters, the need is often two-fold, reclaiming water to supply critical water demand in arid areas and secondly to minimize the pollution of local water supplies by the raw wastewater.
