Trends in suicide rates have shown to be increasing since the East/Southeast Asia economic crisis in 1997.Countries, including Thailand, seemed to have notable suicide problems.The objectives of this study therefore were to examine firstly the rates of suicidal ideations and suicidal attempts among the clients of Samaritans of Thailand (SOT), Bangkok Centre, during 2006 to 2010; secondly, problems as related to the ideations/attempts; thirdly, methods of the suicidal ideations/ attempts, as well as the characteristics of these clients.The data were extracted from the Samaritans routine recording forms for all the clients from January 2006 to December 2010.
