Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) represents a distinctive subgroup of unexpected infant deaths occurring during the first months of life.According to some authors SIDS is associated with developmental anomalies,immaturity or hyperplasia of several organs such as the thyroid, parathyroid gland, adenohypophysis or carotid body.
