Pervaporation is an emerging technology in environment cleanup operations, and it has revealed obvious advantages in many respects, e.g.extraction or removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from aqueous solutions, recovery of ethanol or butanol from fermentation broth, aroma recovery from fruit juice, and so on.The objective of this work is to apply a novel silane modified silicalite/PDMS hybrid membrane to pervaporative recovery of methanol from dilute model wastewater solutions. The separation of binary methanol/water and acetone/water mixtures was initially carried out.
