  ILs, as green solvents with unique properties, such as high polarity, negligible vapor pressure, wide liquid range, and thermal stability, have been paid considerable attention and successfully exploited in synthesis of various morphologies of novel three dimensional (3D) nano-materials with unique size and morphology-depended properties, which make them extensively applied in energy conversion and storage, catalysis, drug delivery and wastewater treatment.One dimensional (1D) magnesium borate nanostructures have been found particular effective in reinforcing magnesium/aluminum or high polymer based composites.
