Since 1992, we have been studying widely tunable terahertz-wave parametric sources using nonlinear optical effects in LiNbO3 crystal based on stimulated polariton scattering[1,2].The terahertz-wave parametric generator (TPG) and the terahertz-wave parametric oscillator (TPO) are not only compact but also room temperature operated, making them suitable as practical sources.
