Prediction of Severe Weather Events over Korea with a Nonhydrostatic Regional Spectral Model

  With increasing computing power, the horizontal resolution of global modeling approaches to several kilometers, where nonhydrostatic effects become important.However, the global models are computationally very expensive at high resolution, and required computational resources cannot be provided easily.Since the high impact weather events are occurred over the limited area, the high-resolution weather forecasts are achieved effectively by nonhydrostatic regional models.
