Lead-3d transition metal perovskites PbM03 exhibit systematic valence distribution changes with increases in Ms atomic number hence in the depth of its d level: from Pb2+M4++O3(M= Ti or V[1])to Pb2+Pb4+O.5M3+O3(M= Cr[2] or Fe,with an average valence state of Pb3+M3+03),and finally to Pb4+M2+03(M= Ni[3]).
