Thermal related processes are widely recognized as the major sources of formation and emission of polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs). Carbonization of coal in coke production involves many thermal reactions. Formation and emission of PCBs might occur during charging of coal(CC),and pushing of coke(PC). However, intensive study on PCBs emission from coke plants is still lacking. In this study, the emission levels and characteristics of dioxin-like PCBs(dl-PCBs) from typical coke plants were presented and discussed.
