Purpose:There is minimal research regarding pain assessment in older people who have dementia,cognitive impairment and diminished verbal communication skills.This research analysed the validity and reliability,as well as identify the relative strengths and weaknesses,of pain behaviour assessment tools with the aim to improve pain assessment measures for this cohort of older people.
