  单环刺螠(Urechis unicinctus)隶属螠虫动物门,是我国黄渤海沿岸常见的刺螠动物,在发育过程中有典型的担轮幼虫和体节幼虫发生。其与环节动物门的多毛纲动物在特征上既有相似又有差异,如二者在发育过程中都有体节产生,但是多毛类动物终生具有体节,螠虫动物的体节则仅在其个体发育较短的时期内存在,随着体节幼虫发育至蠕虫状幼虫后体节消失,由此蜢虫动物被认为起源于环节动物。然而,近年来一些学者通过对多个门动物的16s rRNA、18srRNA、EF1α、H3和COI等基因系统进化分析,提出螠虫动物还是应该属于环节动物。形态学与分子生物学研究上产生的分歧使我们对螠虫动物的进化地位产生了疑问。由于目前缺少嗌虫动物体节相关基因的基础数据,致使人们无法使用这个经典的蜢虫动物进化特征在现代生物学水平上进行进化分析。
