Background The ATP-binding cassette,sub-family B,member 1 (ABCB1) polymorphisms may influence oral bioavailability of clopidogrel and prognosis of patients treated with clopidogrel. The effect of ABCB 1 polymorphisms on the adverse events of clopidogrel treatment have not yet been reported in Chinese patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of ABCB1 polymorphisms on the risk of ischemic and bleeding events in clopidogrel-treated Chinese patients with STEMI undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
