The creation of ternary or higher complex metal oxide nanowires has long been the preserve of top down fabrication techniques, however with the fine control afforded by new templated methods, the ability to synthesise complex metal oxides, such as cuprate superconductors, in novel designed morphologies from the bottom up is now possible.
