Maintaining lipid homeostasis becomes more and more important for modern wealth life.Within human body,proper lipid metabolism is important for both adipose and non-adipose tissues.Within the cells,lipid homeostasis is achieved through several lipid metabolic processes including lipid biosynthesis,lipid utilization,lipid storage,and lipid trafficking.We mainly use Drosophila models to study the regulation of lipid storage in fat body,the adipose tissue,and salivary gland,a non-adipose tissue.
