Tumor microenvironment is characteristic of ischemia and starvation of nutrient.Glil is a strong positive transcriptional activator of the downstream of Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway and plays an essential role in the development of cancers,including breast cancer.The main purpose of this study was to investigate thepro-survival effect of Glil under serum starvation and its molecular mechanism in ER-positive breast cancer MCF-7 and T47D cells.The resuhs revealed that serumstarvation significantly up-regulated the expression of Glil by activated PI3K/AKT pathway.
