The human serum proteome has been extensively studied to find protein and peptide biomarkers.Due to the large dynamic range of protein amounts in serum and especially several kinds of highly abundant and large molecular weight proteins, identifying and detecting amount changes in small molecular weight but physiologically and pathologically informative proteins (molecular weight ≤30kDa) and peptides by varied enrichmental methods and mass spectrometry analysis are constrained.
