Al-Mg-Si alloys (6xxx series alloys) have been classified as an age-hardenable alloy.Addition of transition metals to Al-Mg-Si can improve the mechanical properties due to effect of grain refinement.Also, amount of Si is important for mechanical properties.In this research, Al-1.0%Mg2Si-0.4%Si [mol%], (excess Si-type Al-Mg-Si alloy) with Cu and without Cu prepared by casting to investigate the effect of alloying elements Cu and Si.Solution treatment was conducted at 848 K for 3.6 ks.Cold rolling was conducted with the thickness reduction of 0, 10, 30 and 60% after solution treatment.After deformation, samples were subjected to aging treatment at 473 K.Vickers microhardness measurement was conducted.Microstructure was observed using TEM.
