  Aims: There are numerous drug-drug interactions (DDIs) related to cardiovascular medications including ADP receptor antagonist (clopidogrel),HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) and Beta-blockers,and most of these are mediated via the drug metabolizing enzyme CYP3A4.Some of these DDIs may lead to serious adverse events and it is,therefore,essential to understand the nature and mechanisms involved.While several transcription factor (TF) such as PXR,CAR,AhR have been implicated in the CYP3A4 regulation,in many cases,the reported TF seem to have only a partial contribution to the variability in the CYP3A4 expression.The aim of this study was to investigate the potential contribution of newly discovered transcription factor RORA and LncRNA NONHSAT122255 to the variability in the CYP3A4 expression and interactions between these two regulatory genes.
