We prepared Li and Mn co-doped NiO thin films (LixNi0.97-xMn0.03O, x =0-0.10) by a sol-gel spin-coating method on silicon substrates. The Mn 2p core-level photoemission and X-ray absorption spectra indicate that Mh consisted of the Mn2+ and Mh3+ components, and no metallic Mn observed. The current density of the films increased as the Li dopnng content iicreasing due to an increase of hole carriers.Magnetization measurements revealed that all the NiO thin fihus showed room-temperature ferromagnetic properties, and can be enhanced by the Li co-doping, which should be ascribed to the effective exchange interactions between the hole canriers and the nagnetic Mn ions.
