At present, almost all LC methods for the separation of pharmaceuticals are reverse phase chromatography that large numbers of organic solvents are used.Anion-exchange columns used for separation of moroxydine hydrochloride, aciclovir and cephalexin hydrate have scarcely been reported. The ionic liquid stationary phase based on N-methylimidazolium functionalized silica happened to meet our demand because it has an excellent anion-exchange character and incidental hydrophobic interaction etc.simultaneously.The phase permits good separation of neutral organics at lower methanol concentrations than those on conventional reverse-phase columns.
