Objective: Autophagy serves as a stress response and it is a process involved in neurodegeneration diseases. Increasing data suggest that activation of autophagy may contribute to neuroprotection against cerebral ischemia, Minocycline, a semisynthetic tetracycline antibiotic, can inhibit cell apoptosis and protect neurons in neurodegenerative disease.
