The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of antihypertensive treatment using 24 hours blood pressure,health-related quality of life using SF36, and costs quantified from the health-care perspective of antihypertensive treatment based on telemonitoring of home blood pressure and conventional monitoring of office BP.Hypertensive patients (n=230) participated in a randomized, controlled study during six months. In the intervention group, antihypertensive treatment was based on home BP monitoring.
