　　The damaged myocardium of patients who survive a heart attack or myocardial infarction (MI) can be regenerated by delivering stem cells to the injured cardiac muscle.Cardiosphere-derived stem cells (CDCs) are known to significantly improve the healing and function of the left ventricles of rats following an experimentally induced infarction.
