Chromosomal instability is the most common genetic abnormality in sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC).By loss of heterozygosity approach, we identified Protocadherin 10 (PCDH 10) gene at chromosome 4q28 with a high frequency of allelic deletion in CRC.Importantly, the genetic alteration was significantly associated with presence of distant metastasis and poorer overall survival of patients.Meanwhile, PCDH10 gene expression was silenced or downregulated in 77.4% (41/53) of colorectal carcinomas compared with matched normal mucosas.
