Sequencing and assembly of small RNAs (sRNAs) from plants and invertebrates has been proved to be an effective way of identifying and characterizing both DNA and RNA viruses. To explore the virome of a mixed tobacco sample, leaves of tobacco showing distinct symptoms were pooled for sRNAs sequencing.
