Graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) have recently attracted considerable attention as a viable and inexpensive carbon nanoelectronic material, which consist of platelets of graphite sheet with thickness of nano-scaled, given the predicted excellent in-plane mechanical, structural, thermal, and electrical properties of graphite.GNPs are fundamentally different from other carbon nanoelectronic materials such as fullerenes and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) because of open surfaces and sharp edges, and also the high surface-to-volume ratio and unique electrical property could serve as an ideal material for electron field emission.
