For the steering vibration problem of the passenger car under low engine speed conditions,this paper introduces some solutions to solve the steering wheel vibration.For this car,the steering wheel vibration problem is analysed and solved by means of experiment and finite element simulation technology.The steering wheel vibration under low engine speed conditions is caused by the steering column oblique 45°swing mode which is coupling with the engine room torsion mode.Base on the fuel consumption performance,countermeasures are reviewed from the body response parts.The solution that the steering wheel SRS module is used as the dynamic damper is taken finally and has been verified by tests.Adjusting the stiffness of the rubber by changing its shape connecting the SRS to the steering wheel body significantly reduces the vibration of the steering wheel and achieves the project target.
