Encoders or resolvers are normally fitted to the machine shaft to measure rotor position information directly.However,this has the disadvantages of adding to the total cost and the size of the drive and reducing its reliability.This paper presents a new sensofless self-detecting angular machine with the signal injection method.The machine is regarded as synchro/encoder,a special voltage test pulse is injected into the phase windings,the high frequency current of the machine is evaluated to extract the rotor position signal.A method that yields information about the INFORM method of the PMSM is introduced.A simulation result of the proposed theory is shown,and the result discussed.The validity of the proposed method is also verified through the experimental results.
