With the advancement of micro-scale separation, it is required monolithic columns should possess homogeneous column bed.The selection of porogens is a useful tool to control porous structure.Meanwhile, few studies on the influence of different porogen system on the surface property of monolith have been reported.In our study, poly(methacrylic acid-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) monolithic capillary (poly(MAA-co-EDMA)) for capillary hydrophilic liquid chromatography (cHILIC) has been prepared.To investigate the influence of porogens to the hydrophilicity of monolith, two different porogenic solvent mixtures were used; one "hydrophobic", comprising dodecanol and toluene, and one "hydrophilic", consisting of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO).
