To address the routing scalability problems mainly caused by the semantics overload of Internet Protocol(IP)addresses,the Locator/ID Separation Protocol(LISP)is proposed.It separates IP addresses into Endpoint Identifiers(EIDs)and Routing Locators(RLOCs).In the LISP network,mapping caches are used to temporarily store EID-to-RLOC mappings to reduce mapping lookup latency.Cache replacement policies are used to make eviction decisions when the cache is full.
