Root waving responses are attributed to both environmental and genetics factors.While the potential inducers and transducers of root waving remain elusive.Here, we demonstrate that salicylic acid (SA) modulates this response as a potent inducer and that an NO-associated protein 1 in Arabidopsis (AtNOA1) is involved in this process.SA specially induced root waving with overall decrease of root elongation in Arabidopsis, and SA-induced this response was disrupted in Atnoal mutants.
