Objective To investigate the associations between dietary behavior pattern and obesity in children and adolescents.Methods 67540 children and adolescents from seven provinces of China participated in physical examination and questionnaire survey.7-day dietary recall was used to collect dietary data.Results Four dietary behavior patterns were identified.Pattern 1 was associated with fried food, snack, Western fast-food,soft drink and eating outside;Pattern 2 was associated with vegetable, fruit and meat;Pattern 3 was associated with breakfast and milk;Pattern 4 was associated with size of bowl and eating speed.Multiple logistic regression showed that pattern 1 and pattern 4 were risk factors for overweight and obesity (OR=1.146, OR=1.848), while pattern 3 was a protective factor (OR=0.734).Conclusions Healthy dietary behavior patterns and nutrition education is urgent for child and adolescent to control obesity.
