Bovine tuberculosis prevails worldwide in livestock and wildlife except in camels. However, different susceptibilities between camels and other species have not been reported.Toll-interacting protein (TOLLIP) gene variants are associated with tuberculosis susceptibility in human. In this study, differences in RNA and protein levels were separately analyzed;different TOLLIP gene polymorphisms were then compared among various species. Results indicated TOLLIP mRNA and protein structures varied except the conservative C2 domain in different species.Tertiary protein structure indicated that the structure of the TOLLIP gene of camels differs from that of other species.
