The current research deals with the treatment of patients with Parkinsons disease, whose symptoms can be improved by acupuncture of the ZS-point on the Yin side of the skull.By demonstrating that prolactin with acupuncture of a single point-the ZS-point on the Yang side-was lowered measurable by laboratory tests, the evidence for dopamine-antagonistic action at this point is confirmed.Consequently, the idea was suggested that the ZS-point could have a dopaminergic function on the Yin side. While treating my patients it could be observed that the typical symptoms of the patient as face mask, eye blink less frequently, but also rigidity and tremor could be surprisingly quickly relieved by acupuncture of the ZS-point Yin.The research is currently being expanded with a structured study of other Parkinsons patients in a neurological clinic and practice.
