Cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp.PCC6803 is a photosynthetic model plants which possess a a CO2-concentrating mechnism that involves the uptake of CO2 and HCO3 driven by light energy. In this study, we investigated the limitation factors in carbon assimilation in cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp.PCC6803.We studied the contribution of the inorganic carbon transportation to photosynthesis with constructing different transporters absent mutants: △ndhF4/BicA/cmpA/sbtA (△4-CupA dependent),△ndhD3/ndhD4/cmpA/BicA (△4-SbtA dependent),△ndhD3/ndhD4/cmpA/sbtA (△4-BicA dependent). It was found that the inorganic carbon transporters not only play a role in CO2 transportation but also in dissipation of excess light energy. Our study analysised several limitation factors involved in carbon assimilation. The results provide a base to elucidate the regulative mechanism in photosynthetic effeciency.
