Ag+-thiol coordination polymers are precursors for Ag nanoparticles [1].We found that the coordination polymers formed in the solutions of Ag+ and the thiol ligand were supported by both the Ag+...Ag+ interaction and the interactions between the side chains of neighborhood thiol ligand molecules.
