The role of light in the sexual behavior of Lepidoptera has been studied for many years because of the wide variation in the effects of light on moths and butterflies.The sexual behaviors of insects are affected by light, and visual cues play a key role in sexual behaviors, particularly in the recognition of other insects.The role of light in sexual behavior has been investigated previously, particular in butterfly and Drosophila species.
