Migraines are primary headaches,and their pathogenesis is complex,involving cerebral vascular dilatation or spasm,cerebral hemodynamic abnormalities,and multiple,intracranial neurological disorders.The cerebral hemodynamic abnormalities had been hypothesized early on,but there still is not much evidence for it.In this study,528 cases of migraine were examined by transcranial Doppler cerebral vascular ultrasound (TCD).The results showed that the rate of abnormal TCD detection in the migraine group was similar to that of healthy controls.However,the rate of abnormal TCD detection in the migraine with aura group (18.6%) was significantly higher than in the migraine without aura group (8.2%).In addition,the rate of abnormal TCD detection in the migraine with tension headache group (53.2%) was significantly higher than in the simple migraine group (12.6%).These results suggest that abnormal cerebral vascular hemodynamics exist in certain migraine patients,which may affect the brains neural regeneration and disease prognosis.
