Spontaneous combustion in goaf is one of the main hazards in the coal exploitation.This paper proposed a gas analysis and temperature measurement combined method to monitor coal spontaneous combustion.characteristics information.And reported fiber optic gas sensors (CH4, O2, CO, CO2) based on laser absorption spectroscopy, fiber Bragg grating (FBG) multi-point temperature sensor and fiber optic Raman scattering distributed temperature sensor.The fiber optic multi-parameter monitoring system of spontaneous combustion is integrated.It can monitor different positions temperature and gases real-time and analyze changing laws of temperature and gases compositions in coal mine goaf.It is intrinsically safe and suitable for application in coal mine explosive environment.The field trial demonstration of the fiber optic monitoring system was reported in several coal mines.The long term results show that the optic fiber monitoring system has good performance in stability and sensitivity.It provided scientific basis for early detection the risk, and determining danger zone of spontaneous combustion in mine goaf.It shows great application potential for coal mine hazard monitoring.
