Fusarium graminearum is the causal agent of Fusarium head blight, which is a destructive disease on wheat, barley, maize and other cereal grasses.In a previous study on functional characterization of the F.graminearum kinome [1], one protein kinase gene unique to filamentous ascomycetes was found to be imoortant for conidiation.
