Background, Motivation and Objective Ultrafast cooling by total liquid ventilation (TLV) is a novel therapeutic hypothermia technique that improves outcome in brain tissues after asphyxial cardiac arrest. However, the neuroprotective mechanism of ultrafast cooling and its effect on cerebral microcirculation remain largely unknown. Here, we report multiparametric ultrafast cerebral imaging of ultrafast cooling in rabbits to monitor the spatiotemporal post arrest hemodynamics with and without TLV neuroprotection.
