The polyimide/silica(PI/SiO2) hybrid materials with high inorganic content are prepared from nano-meter silica and polyamic acid (PAA).Via high temperature (300℃), PAA become to PI by ring-close metathesis.Because of the high content of silica, the hybrid material has a low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE).Moreover, it enhances the youngs modulus, storage modulus, glass transition point (Tg) and coefficient of elasticity.When inorganic content up to 40%, CTE decrease to 36 ppm/℃ from 52 ppm/℃, storage modulus increase to 4049 MPa from 2425 MPa, Tg raise to 400 ℃ from 360 ℃, coefficient of elasticity promote to 3.5 GPa from 2.0 GPa.Obviously, we clearly see the effect of inorganic silica.
