  There are two broad types of driveline torsional vibrations, namely gear rattles from a component or sub-system with non-linear characteristics, and driveline vibrations when loaded.One-way clutches are being used in a wide range of drivelines to allow overrunning so that excessive load on the driven side does not flow back to the driving side.The one-way clutch is switched into flywheel when vehicle reaches a predetermined speed (usually around 30 mph), and then engine speed is reduced, for example the driver raise foot from accelerator momentarily.
