A new strategy ofpeptide reagent design,namely AABPD (amino acid based-peptide design),especially for HIV peptide fusion inhibitors,is proposed based on the physical and chemical properties of amino acids.In a training set the bioactivities ofpeptide samples are correlated with a series of physical and chemical properties of amino acid in peptide sequence,through a linear free energy equation.This leads to a special simultaneous linear equation,∑j(∑lvij,lal)bj=lnki,which contains a three-dimensional data matrix vij,l and two sets of unknown coefficients,{al}and {bj}.
