Scientific concept is the combination of observation, experiment and thinking.Developing the thinking ability of primary students is one of the major tasks of scientific concept teaching in primary school. However,a common problem existing in the science teaching of primary school is that teachers simply give scientific concepts to students who still fail to understand the deep meanings.Visual thinking tools use a new method to provide an operable model for the scientific concepts teaching. Therefore, through taking the fourth grade "food for one day" as an example, this paper aims to cultivate the students thinking ability and promote the construction of scientific concepts even to reflect the requirements of scientific inquiry activities through the use of visual thinking tools such as micro videos,Mind Map and PMIQ diagram.
